OUR DESIGN PHILOSOPHY

For us, architecture is beyond designing buildings and built spaces; it involves designing the lifestyle of the users. We constantly explore and experiment on how to give character to a space in relation to the user. Architecture, according to us, should strive to move us, and make us feel a particular way. Architecture too, like music, has the ability to influence one’s mood. The built space should make us happier when we are happy; it should comfort us when we are sad. It should calm us when we are disturbed. Architectural practice is an interesting interweave of built space versus human emotions. It explores how the character of space changes with its usage in respect to the number of users. Life shall ooze into a built space and it shall live in happiness with us when it breathes, when it is exposed and when it has some emotions to express. We design the built space keeping in mind that it is a living being which always serves its users. Hence, we believe in integrating nature, the exteriors into interiors, interiors into exteriors, the light, the sound and the air with proper skin i.e., materials and detailing will always keep the building young and energetic. The exploration on sustainable building material and vernacular architectural styles with a fusion of contemporary and futuristic design approach that respects and is responsive of its context will keep the building lively and create a sense of excitement to its users. The concept of working back and forth in two dimensions and three dimensions, and urging clients to get involved in the design process helps the entire project take a good shape from the beginning. To envisage and design the space three-dimensionally right from the beginning will help the user understand and feel space better. We see our buildings as a sculpture, an organism, a living being, in contrast to perceiving it as a building with walls on each side. Hence we develop our building three-dimensionally right from the beginning. We constantly experiment and evolve, keeping the socio-economic background, the budget, and context of the building as a base. In totality, the building should serve its users, its immediate surroundings and on a macro level eventually.
